The BFT Yorai Jig combines the quick sinking nature of a torpedo with the settle kick of a dying baitfish to entice quick swimming fish to bite. This jig is optimal when fishing for Bluefin tuna at depths greater than 200ft. The design of the jig will assure the quickest sink rate to the bite zone allowing your bait to be the first one seen by the school of fish.

It works well!

The boat captain recommended using a specific brand of jigs weighing 200 and 300 grams. I had never caught a bluefin tuna (BFT) using that particular jig before. However, following his advice proved to be a great choice, as I successfully landed 3 BFT within just a few hours. The largest BFT weighed about 145 pounds. Interestingly, a novice tuna fisherman I met on the boat used a 400-gram BFT Yorai polka dot jig and managed to catch 3 BFT in a single night after I gave him one of my BFT. Clearly, the jig works well, even though I didn’t end up using it on this trip.
